The River City High tracks on this promotional split EP are all featured ontheir new album
Won't Turn Down, which we've already
reviewed, so I'm going to focus my attention on the Piebald tracks. "American Hearts," previously released on their
Rock Revolution EP, is the emo anthem with the most angst of these three tracks. The singer's voice is kind of dorky and out of tune, but it's catchy and works with the heavy, crunching guitar work. "Look, I Just Don't Like You," (something I wish I had the guts to say to people more often!) is a demo from their upcoming album,
Piebald Feeds The Horse, and is a bit lighter, more on the poppy side. Songs about robots send little thrills up and down my spine, and although "The Monkey Versus the Robot" (also a demo from their upcoming album) wasn't very robotesque, it's a pretty good rocker nonetheless. All in all, if these three tracks are any indication,
Piebald Feeds the Horse will be worth keeping an ear open for this Winter.
