Soundclip: "Give Me Some Time"

Buy it at Insound!
The three Tunnell brothers (Stephen, Joah and Jonny), who together comprise Vibrant Green, are like a slightly older version of Hanson. Except they make really good music. And they rock out. And you'll probably never see their mugs on MTV. Okay, they're nothing like Hanson, but they do remind me a bit of the much more respectable Silver Scooter. However you look at it, they're something to check out (which I may try to do the next time I'm in their home town, Chapel Hill, North Carolina).

It's immediately obvious that Vibrant Green seems to have overcome some of the production problems that dogged their earlier efforts. The vocals, which sound like a deeper version of the Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant (especially on the wonderful "Give Me Some Time", which is worth the purchase price on its own) are up-front and clear, every crunch of the guitar is blatant and even the drums seem to have been properly miked. By all means, pick up this five song wonder if you can find it. I can see the scene in the record store now: "Hmmm... Should I buy Hanson's new album, or this one from Vibrant Green?" I think the answer is pretty damn obvious.
