What's the worst "day job" you've ever had?
Matt Traxler: I got a pizza delivery job once, at a chain pizza place. I had
helped deliver pizza with my friend, who worked for a small independently-owned place. Durring the time there were no deliveries, he would read books,
smoke cigarettes and hang out with my punk ass, so I tried to get the same
job, but they wanted me to weigh out frozen chunks of dough and mop the
floor when I wasn't delivering. So I left.
Most people, whether they're willing to admit it or not,
have a uniform -- clothing they'll
default to when left to their own devices. What's your uniform?
Matt Traxler: Blue jeans, either the faded worn out ones, or the newer less busted ones,
black t-shirt, blue low top chucks, white socks, clean boxers, paul mitchell
foaming pomeade.
PC or Mac (or Linux/etc.)? Why?
Matt Traxler: Total Mac snob. I've been obsessed with them since the IIes they had at
school in third grade. It's the only kind I've ever owned, and almost
exclusively what I work on. Aside from that, they're fun, smarter, and in a
way quite pretentious... You can't buy a Mac at K-Mart.
What is your definition of a "good person"?
Matt Traxler: There isn't such a thing.
What book (or books) that you read as a child has most influenced your life
as an adult?
Matt Traxler: Probably the Shel Silverstein books, Where the Sidewalk Ends, and A Light in the Attic, which I actually read as a child. However, on the topic, The
Little Prince is the most important children's book ever, in my opinion.
What was the most important trend/cultural paradigm shift of the year 2000?
Matt Traxler: Razor scooters.
Given the choice, would you rather stake your life on your
ability to quickly solve a complex mathematical equation, or attempt to
fight/escape
from a large grizzly bear? Why?
Matt Traxler: Math. Math is sexy.
What's your favorite video/computer game? Don't have one? How about board
games?
Matt Traxler: Tetris.
What's your position on gun control?
Matt Traxler: Missionary.
What album or albums in your music collection would you
have to replace immediately if they wore out, were stolen, etc.?
Matt Traxler: Low's The Curtain Hits the Cast and Bedhead's Transaction de Novo.
Do you use Napster (or any of its variants)? How often?
For what? If not, why not?
Matt Traxler: Yes, occasionally, for songs I'd like to hear, but don't care about that much.
You are able to get away with murder once, and only once.
Who, if anyone, do you kill?
Matt Traxler: Myself.
You're stuck at my house. It's your turn to cook. What meal do you cook me?
Matt Traxler: Tacos with that Boca fake meat stuff, and rice...
What's the most evil thing in the world?
Matt Traxler: Cool kids.
You have the power to bring one famous dead person back to
life. Who's it gonna be?
Matt Traxler: Phil Hartman.
